Visiting the website

When you visit the site, the web server records technical data (IP address, time, page requested, browser) to operate the site and protect it against misuse. These logs are deleted after 14 days.

We do not use tracking, analytics, advertising or external fonts and scripts. A cookie only stores your chosen language; your choice of light/dark theme and motion is kept in your browser's local storage and never sent to us.

Email subscription

If you subscribe, we store your email address, your settings (frequency, areas, substances, language) and the time of sign-up, confirmation and the last email. You only receive emails after confirming your address (double opt-in); unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 7 days.

Emails are sent via the mail service of Hostpoint AG, Switzerland. To prevent misuse, the sign-up form stores only a one-way hash of your IP address for 24 hours.

Every email contains a link to change your settings or unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe, your address and settings are deleted immediately.

AI summaries

The summaries of articles are written by an AI model from Anthropic (USA). Only the publicly available article texts are sent for this purpose – never data about visitors or subscribers.

Your rights

You can ask at any time which data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted. Simply write to news@visualsynth.ch.
