Serotonergic psychedelics delay resting state neurovascular coupling dynamics

A bioRxiv preprint investigated how the psychedelics LSD and DMT alter resting state neurovascular coupling. Using a blind deconvolution algorithm on BOLD signals, the authors found that both drugs increased estimated hemodynamic delays in regions overlapping with serotonin receptor distributions. The findings suggest that vascular effects should be accounted for in future psychedelic neuroimaging studies.

After the Trip: A Qualitative Study of Healthy Individuals' Motor Experiences Following Different Doses of Psilocybin

A qualitative study interviewed 12 healthy participants using semi-structured interviews after motor tasks under three different psilocybin doses. Thematic analysis revealed altered motor coordination, control, speed and reaction time, dose-dependent effects, and mystical or altered-consciousness experiences. The findings aim to inform safety considerations, a broader dose-finding study, and psilocybin-assisted physiotherapy for motor functional neurological disorder.
